The "Flyover States" they call them
& concurrent & crossing contrails
concede the point
But there are lives here, you know
& not everyone looks up
or longingly gazes east or west
in accordance to the Continental Divide

This poem was the starting point to the project. Observing the lifestyle of the people who live in Evansville the final goal. Far away from big cities like New York or Los Angeles, my hoosier friends showed me how life in the midwest is and gave voice to a huge part of the United States that sometimes seems silent.
