Mar is born in A Coruña, Spain in 1980 . Thanks to her brother she was never named Paloma . Her practice engages issues surrounding female identity and adaptation as result of a physical space displacement .She explores the idea of art as a weapon of social engagement . With her photographs, videos and installations she expresses a curiosity about how women are finding their niche in today's society without giving up their natural and instinctive qualities . She is interested in the " hidden feminine" and the immaterial patrimony of femininity ,and also in those rare situations where women are in the majority.
She lives and works in Madrid and is represented by " Galeria 6mas1" (www.6mas1.es). She is mad about sweets, sun, sleeping, R&R, traveling and dogs.
